faceMy name is Courtney, and I am a lover of El Elyon, the Most High God: the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. My identity is wholly and completely wrapped up in Him, and the aim of my life is to serve & glorify Him.

I am the “radical” Christian in my family; the crazy daughter who gave up a great talent in classical ballet to devote her life to full-time ministry in the Church. But my life is not so extraordinary, I promise.

My greatest joys come from spending time with Jesus through prayer, the Word, and worship; writing/playing music and leading worship; and being with the people of God. Though I fall short everyday, I strive to live a life marked by wholehearted and passionate love for God and His beloved creation of humankind.

I stumbled upon my “life verse” by accident one night, while leafing through a friend’s Bible that I was “holding hostage.” It is Psalm 13:6, and it perfectly sums up the entirety of my life: “I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.”

Since society likes to define people by what they do, you can call me a worship leader & youth ministry leader. I don’t quite know where my life is headed but my next step is to intern at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri for six months. My frivolous pursuits in my increasingly rare free time include reading theological & “Christian living” books, writing, knitting, photography, painting, decorating, and having all sorts of arbitrary adventures with the awesome people I am blessed to call my friends.

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgements of His mouth. O seed of Abraham His servant, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones!” Psalm 105:1-6
